Based on a true story, this Pulitzer Prize-winning tour de force explores one of the most singular lives of the 20th Century: antiques collector Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, who not only survived two of the world’s most repressive regimes in the Nazis and East German Communists, but preserved countless rare Weimar and Jewish cultural artifacts in her East Berlin home all the while. But as the story goes deeper, what begins as a celebration of queer resilience shifts into a far more complicated portrait of survival, truth, and the cost of living authentically. A swirling Create-Your-Own-Adventure play following Calloway Brown, a young man with a bad haircut, as he runs into challenging decisions and moments of doubt on an island of dangers. Guided by the audience, Calloway may dive below the waters, meet vampires, travel back in time, or become a superhero in the over 1,000 different storylines combinations.
"an accomplishment... the story can veer-off in dramatically different directions that could potentially change the mood, motion and emotion of the story being told... No two performances are going to be the same." - Russ Bickerstaff, Shepherd Express

A participatory play set in a park where the characters explore what it means to be a little person in a big world. Our characters will shift between modes of abstraction as they attempt to answer questions like "Why not?", "What if?", and "What else?" Throughout the story, they uncover some of the invisible strings that connect one to the planet's greater powers, and begin to understand the feeling of helplessness that accompanies such scale.
"Hidden Strings... circumvents word-based language by exploring alternatives, including music and the “sound” of silence through which the natural world voices itself. “Birds, rivers, cars, people, and dogs all become a part of play,” the script suggests. " - Mike Fischer, WPW Backstage

The jack-of-all-trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect.
